Now a days , contessa is coming back by boys who love cars, i am one of the lucky guy who enjoyed ownership of both petrol and diesel.i got a contessa classic petrol as a gift from my grand father at the age of 18. the car is equipped with 1800cc isuzu engine and modified to dual free flow exhaust system, I have got the mileage of 7- 9 in city and 11 - 13 in highway riding conditions. I loved the car for its classic looks, whenever I go anywhere people looks at the car and then me, thats a contessa thing guys.the 1.8 engine can be tuned for power to the hell. enough to do burn out in road with lil gravel even. can gain enough of torque with the heavy body. but over taking is really hard in this car, u will get alot of space in boot, that I almost driven with 300 of coconut from our farm. the 65 litre petrol tank will scare u .with 5 litres we can start the car.and no needs for work out for arm if u just pop up and down the bonnet for 100 times a day. lol
but u will love the car by its build quality, powerful ac , comfort, royal ride, black interiors , the feel the car give u is incredible. u can go anywhere and will be treated as a VIP. the bad sides of car is bad visibility at night , lights r not good.if u sudden brake, only front disks work only properly.brakes are nt enough for such a heavy weight car.the 65 litre fuel tank , bad service & spare availability, low riding style will make hell in long rides, parking issues even car have great turning radius.
the diesel have the engine sound- excessive to cabin issue, lag in ride and unpleasent interior s but have 16 - 19 km/l mileage it have.. in long drives . happy na ??
my petrol contessa totalled in an accident between tippers and my papa survived only because of that car. the diesel one sold to my car crazy friend who working on it in his garage for a muscle car..
using this car is really worthy. I loved it and now people wonder and ask when see me in a black n white poster sized pic . hey , u had a contessa man ?? is it you ?
