I bought the Hitachi window AC on 3/3/12 from Rathna Fan house, in Chennai. The fist issue was that it was not delivered until the 7th March and there is no information whatsoever on the reasons why it was delayed or what is causing the issue. Called the Hitachi guys in RFH and once it is sold, they are not interested in answering you for anything. But anyway, it got delivered on the 7th.
Today its 14th and I am yet to receive a call from the installation engineer for installing the AC. I’ve been calling the engineer whose number was given when I bought the AC and after 4-5 attempts over the past week, he finally picked up the phone and basically given the carpenter’s number for installation. When I asked about the electrical connections that need to be done, he said the carpenter will do it and as installation engineer his job is only demo. May be for maintenance of ACs they will send plumbers.
Meanwhile. I called up their call center and they registered a complaint and I was told that someone will call for installation. No one has called so far and I am being told that it will take 48 hours for someone to call. Not sure how they calculate 48 hours over 2-3 days.
I cannot write anything about the product itself as it is yet to be installed. I am’hoping’ that it is as superior as they say and if their service so far is any indication, I am skeptical on that as well.
My take is, do not buy’Hitachi ACs’(especially from Rathna Fan house) as it is not worth going through all these issues just to get a superior product. And I am sure their maintenance service will be bad, if not worse.
If you have to buy the Hitachi, get someone nearby to do the installation and maintenance and do not expect Hitachi to help out.
