Before visiting Vietnam, my impression about this country was only as a poor and war ridden country. I travelled to HCMC between Aug 23-31st 2008 on business. When I landed at the airport, my impression totally changed. From that moment till today, I have great respect for this country.
When I checked in the hotel, I got the glimpse of extremely hospitable Vietnamese girls who treated me with utmost respect and hospitality. The rooms were good and spacious. The food was good too. Had a real good time with people around. when I shopped around, found them very cost effective. Specially the shops around Tax centre in Dist.1 and a few more areas.
When I had visited Coo Chi Coo Tunnel, my respect for the people of Vietnam grew multifold when I saw the attrocities on them by USA during war time and their resistencce to it.
The people are very warm and friendly. The honesty is pretty evident when I got my cell phone back after I forgot it in the taxi from the airport.
The country has opened up newly for the investments and hence it is doing phenomanal in terms of new investments and companies coming in. The newly opened markets are truely a potential to explore.This is a land of business opportunities.
