During this years playoffs for the Stanley cup, people were heart broken when the Toronto Maple Leafs lost against Philadelphia. I was not a crazy hockey fan until I started watching the playoffs. Many people may also want to know the reason why? Well for starters all hockey teams influence people to go crazy over them.
Most of the time people end up heart broken over losses. Although one thing that can describe hockey would be addictive. Me? I only watch hockey during the playoffs to cheer on the Leafs (I guess you can say that I am an on and off person). What drives me crazy is the fact that I know the leafs have been losing for a long time and going crazy over something can really hurt if it doesnt go your way.
Rumour had it during the playoffs that there would be no playoffs in the year of 2005 and some of the best players from the TML (Toronto Maple Leafs) were going to leave ex. Matt Sundin, Belfour, etc. Hockey is a passion that many Canadians have.
No matter whether it is in the Olympics (which Canada won in for both the men and women teams) or in the Stanley Cup playoffs. It is the pride of many Canadians (and that is reallly weird coming from me because I was never the kind of person who cheered on the Leafs or any other teams). I really think that the Calgary Flames deserved a huge round of applause because they went so far in the Stanley cup playoffs of 2003.
I cant wait until next year because once again hockey fever will be on!!!! LETS GO LEAFS, LETS GO!
