A visual treat!

This falls is nearly about 200kms from Bangalore. Planned the outing during monsoon to witness the waterfalls in all its glory & it dint disappoint me. Infact the water was soo full that the coracle was not allowed to sail near the TN side. Karnataka side falls reminds me of the Niagara I have seen in pictures. To enjoy the complete waterfalls, coracle ride is a must. They charge Rs960 for 6 people. There is a lil bit of trek that you need to undertake in between the coracle ride so wear comfy shoes. Your 1st trip to this place will really leave you spell bound. PS: This was my 3rd visit.

Spoiler Alert

  • This place can be a turn off if you are a veggie like me. They catch, fry masala coated fishes & sell it right there. The stench fills the air & also you will notice the fish bones thrown around by some of our careless Indians after eating.

  • You will find half naked men enjoying an oil massage or taking bath in the river which is not a pleasant sight to see. Also there are many men who act like jerks because they are completely sloshed. So ladies need to be weary of how they dress.

  • There are entrance fees collected at every step. Also they collect Rs30 for parking but it was so crowded that whole area was filled with vehicles & we kept circling to find a place to park on the roadside.
