“Hollow Man”- R
Kevin Bacon plays Dr. Sebastian Caine. He has been working with a team of research scientists to come up with a formula to transform mammals to an invisible state. They are doing this task for the National Defense Department. They successfully perform this, but have a problem transforming them back.
After Dr. Caine and the scientists figure out a way to do this, he decides they need to go to the next step, to transform a human to an invisible state. He volunteers himself.
The problems begin here; they can’t switch him back. As the top scientists (Elisabeth Shue and Josh Brolin) are trying to figure out a way to do this, Dr. Caine becomes an invisible ‘peeping Tom.’
He feels empowered by this invisibility and takes advantage of it.
The second problem lies here; the longer he’s invisible the crazier his mind gets.
The writers, Gary Scott Thompson and Andrew W. Marlow, came up with a unique idea for a film. It was action packed and you never knew what was coming next. The direction was by Paul Verhoeven. The special effects in the movie were great! They actually show the transformation into the invisible state. Elizabeth Shue shows once again that she can handle a lead actress role. She works well with Kevin Bacon.
Although parts of this film were a little gory, I would recommend it if you’re in the mood for a thriller. Kevin Bacon plays a great bad guy!
