Stayed in Karthika Home Stay, near Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala, on a few occasions for 1 - 2 days, as a weekend getaway.
Wayanad, is soothing and refreshing for families who lives in Cities, all round the year. We also enjoyed our stay there and on the way/return, spotted at Bandipur Forest, the jungle elephants in groups blocking the road, and herds of wandering and monkeys.
About the Homestay, it is in Chundale, little away from Kalpetta-Calicut Highway, in the midst of picturesque ea and Coffee Estates. The pervading atmosphere is of calm and quite, with the city’s roar all but forgotten. The place is well maintained and clean. The type of accommodation available are as follows, for the benefit of future travellers:
Two bed room unit - Rs 6000/- per day.
One bed room unit - Rs 3000/-per day.(2 One bed room units available)
They welcome families and bachelors as well.
When we stay away from home, the problem we face is food. In this home stay, we got nice homely breakfast as complimentary and dinner on chargeable(very reasonable) basis, after we returned from our sight seeing.
