The honda accord was introducd to the world way back in 1976 as a mere mid size passenger car. Now 32 years and 8 generations later the accord has exploded in size, sales and comfort.
The car that I am reviewing here is the 2008 3.5 litre 268 bhp V6 engine mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission. The car is eye catching and has an elegant pose in contrast with its rather bland and conservative styling of its previous versions. With its new engine it equals the camry V6 with its hp and torque ratings. With the addition af the new cylinder deactivation technology allowing the car to run on 6 , 4 or 3 cylinders depending on our driving conditions for maximum fuel efiiciency.
The exterior of the car looks beautiful with styling finally matching that of camry and some lexus sedans. Its clear cut lines and beefy look makes the car have formidable street presence. In one word the car looks - exciting!!
The interior layout is simple yet handsome giving a very classy look. Fit and finish is excellent. The centre console looks filled with buttons and it may take you time to learn and get used to. The instrument panel is clear and the wooden panels adds to the class. Premium stereo system with 6 indash cd changer along with 7 speakers with sub woofers, leather upholstery, dual zone climatic controls , navigation system, moon roof, auto on head lamps, leather wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and satellite radio all makes this EX - L model ( top end sedan ) makes us feel pampered in luxury. This accord being the largest yet offers ample passenger space and its too close to camry to tel which is better.
The all new accord has the right mix of sporty handling and comfort. The steering feels just right in you hands and you feel comfident in all driving comditions. The strong addictive acceleration and fuel economy brings a smile to your face for a decision well made.
All in all an excellent car worth your hard earned money. This is one of my dad’s car which I used when I came to bahrain for vacation so I am not exactly sure of the inclusion of all the specfications I mentioned above. Hope you enjoyed the review.
