I own Honda Activa from more than a year. Would like to share my experience of this new 110 cc scooter.
I purchased this in Bangalore on Sep 2009. I was fortunate to get my gray color vehicle within 20 days where in the waiting period in city was min 3 months.
I am getting more than 45 km/ltr that is good mileage I would say.
My first day experience was bad..they suppose to give me registered vehicle but they didn’t. But I got it registered after 4 days. First day when I was taking vehicle to home, I felt that the handle is not straight. (I checked few friends vehicles and they too had an issue. I checked with them and they too were complaining this problem) It was corrected in second service.
Then next day I was looking into the vehicle in detail...Surprise, A screw was missing for the hook, It was later added by dealer in first service.
One more surprise was waiting, when I pulled the choke, entire set came out. The lock nut was missed and they added in first service.
I felt headlight focus is not that good, evrytime I complained and no improvement after five servises.
I did raise complain to customer care and they managed to correct few of them. The reason for escalation was, we expect good quality from Honda and I was not expecting the issues within couple of week.
WAIT, YET TO COME TO THE MAIN POINT...
WHEEL OBLING - This is biggest blunder what I see in my vehicle. Everytime I complain about the issue and they claim they have rectified it, but stil I am facing this issue. Some times I feel like I am going to fall from vehicle. But surprisingly issue is not consistent, usually when u accelrate too fast I get obling, it will be ok if you stop and use after some time. I was discussing with friend who own Honda shine and he too has same experience.
Last one, my real wheel paint is coming out in joint and I could see rusty portion there. Dealer say they don’t give paint warranty, what Honda quality is this? I aksed dealer to paint in my last servise even though I am ready to bare the expense, they didn’t do.
One more thing what I noticed was, I see most of the new Honda activa’s has scraches in one or other places...As the handling and breaking is not so good, this small accedents tend to happen..
Honda activa has front spring suspension which is not good. I haven’t tested Suzuki Access, but heard it is better vehicle and they have good front suspension and its 125 cc engine. You have new Wego from TVS, Pleasure from Hero honda to choose.
