Well to begin with This is a masterpiece excellent engineering effort from Honda. The best Gearless scooter in 100CC segment and an ultimate performer.
I own Honda Activa from OCT2002, and I am a proud owner of this machine.
important results:
-Have completed 60000+ Kms, but not a single complain from it so far.
-Mileage till date never been less than 45KMPL.
-Vehicle is still not noisy and is as smooth as it was in its initial stages.
-Power is still almost the same as it was- but u need to do proper servicing at regular times. every 3500-5000KM change the OIL. I use MOTUL engineer oil.
-if u use Honda showroom engine oil, change recovery 2500-3000KM
-On a traffic signal can beat pulsars n other 150-180cc bikes for 1st 10-15seconds.
-Service the vehicle once in 3-4 month, if u use it very heavily daily and in bad roada (like me) :)
-The clutchplates will be wornout every 15000KMs
- Head Light is problem, as the light will get dimmer after u cross 40000KMs, but if u use a cut-router(outside mechanic can do it), this will be prfect. but slowly the magnetic power will reduce.
-Shockers are not so great in Honda, but still its a good bike fo whatever it delivers.
-Easy to handle and control in any whether. Tuff-Puff tubes are really great. hardly have had 5-7 punctures till date. have changed the tyres after 40000KMs.
Tips:
for 1st 1000KMs- keep it single driven bike, n ride it from 20-30KMPH speed.
Dont let anybody else ride it, and dont try to rip through.
Always give vehicle in HONDA service stn and speak to them nicely and explain any faults u feel u have in vehicle. They do an amazing job, if u spek to them properly.
