Hello,
Its been more than two years that I have written a review so now its the right time to write another one. I have been driving this vehicle for two years now and recently completed 22, 000 Kms. This vehicle is still strong and has great braking system if you are going for the disk version. I havent gone for the drum version so sorry for not answering some of the questions I got on this issue. With regards to choke one needs to use it only if it is required otherwise its not required. I do not have starting problems anymore since I use the choke wisely. Also there have been many occasions when I forgot to push it back courtesy my previous vehicle which had a different choking system. I never use the kick and I still find it useless donno why they have included it in first place. For those who are new to gearless scooters this can be a problem since they may not understand the pulse of the vehicle I have been driving gearless scooter for 8 years now so I know when the vehicle starts choking a bit that is when you use a choke and please ensure that you push it back after traveling some distance or else the vehicle will start shaking incredibly I was still able to drive while it was shaking without realising that I forgot to push it in. Of late I am experiencing back problems donno if its beacuse of sitting in front of system for long hours or is it beacuse of the height of this vehicle which requires you to sit straight kind of reminds me of the avon and hercules cycles which I used to ride in my younger days back then height was the consideration not anymore. My dad recently purchased the new activa after a long wait I had the opportunity to drive it around its not great brake wise and doesnt give good mileage according to my dad its just gives around 28km he recently had the first servicing done so maybe it will give more later. I calculated the mileage of my aviator recently since my dad insisted on checking it and it gives around 40kms which is still good enough. I havent driven the new aviator but it looks more like the old one so donno whats new about it. I am not a mechanical engineer so have no idea on the ergonomics etc but the new activa is much more comfortable to drive of course it has a heavy handle so taking sudden u turn could still be an issue. So if you would like to travel shorter distances and zip around which requires moving around in heavy traffic aviator is still the best with disk brake if you are going for longer distances with less congested roads then the new activa is still preferable. I might shift to a car soon and if I have to sell one among the two I will sell aviator of couse it will be hard to let it go so I will still keep it more for emotional reasons than anything else. The honda servicing has been excellent and their customer service has been good of course one has to go for advance booking for servicing or else you have to wait for more than an hour recently I had the advance booking done yet had to wait for half an hour so the mechanic asked me to come between 8 to 9:30 am in the morning I had to wait for an extra day for the delivery and thankfully had my dads activa to move around. My dealer is autofin in Hyderabad and I normally go with their himayathnagar branch was not impressed with their rethibowli branch it looked more like a junkyard to me. If you are not from hyderabad then dont bother but do ensure that you go with the dealer who has a good record with good reputation and sales or else be prepared to deal with some snobs at honda. Eventhough most people have advised me to give the vehicle for servicing outside since its cheaper I still go with the autofin guys of course the recent servicing which happened today costed me 850 bucks but I am fine with it if it goes beyond 1000 bucks for future servicing I might go for alternate options. Overall this vehicle has been a good companion to me but I have taken good care of it. Thank you all for rating my previous review and I am no expert so sorry for not answering any queries:)
