I bought the Honda CB Shine from Dhruvesh Honda, Bangalore.
Since I got my bike, gear shift is not working properly. I am driving daily for average 25 Km.
Gear shifting is not smooth.
Sometimes while up-shifting gear stuck. In this situation bike stalls & engine makes very weird noise. It is very dangerous when driving on highway and I feel unsafe.
Sometimes while down-shifting gear pedal seems loos the control over gearbox(Gear Slips) and nothing happens when I push the pedal. In this case, I have to take the bike side of the road somehow keeping Clutch pressed, turn the engine off and then shift the gear to neutral by dragging bike to and fro.
I really feel unsafe while driving bike. I bought the bike because of its reputation and I am very disappointed.
The service of DHRUVESH Honda is the worst service I have ever seen. The service advisor is not even ready to listen the problem.
According to him everything is as per company setting and working fine.
- The first free service has gone totally waste. I told them about 5-6 issue and neither of them was fixed after service. It seems they just washed the vehicle and given me back.
Best example how big companies and cheating and fooling people in India.
Anyone! Please advise me if you have faced similar gearshift problem with CB Shine.
[UPDATE AFTER 4th FREE SERVICE]
During earlier services I complaint about Gear issue at two services centers(RT Nagar and Jayamahal) several times. But representatives at both centers didnt cared about problem. After 3 services vehicle condition became worst:
More problems in Gear shifting
Engine jerks during acceleration and declaration
Very bad pick up
Thumping noise from various body parts
Stop light bulb blown and replaced
Stop light switch at from break lever damaged
After 4th service I got one additional problem in bonus, noise started coming from chain. Guys at service center said they changed the sprocket alignment and because of that noise is coming. They suggested to replace the chain-sprocket and asked to pay additional 1500 rupees.
Frustrated with this, I made complaint on Honda website. Complaint was registered and they assigned ticket to same service center again.
I visited the service center again and threatened them to file a complaint in Consumer forum if they dont fix all the problem this time.
[UPDATE AFTER SPECIAL SERVICE]
Received the bike in the evening and found only stop light switch is replaced and nothing else fixed. They asked again 1500 rupees to replace the chain-sprocket.
Fade up with these guys; I took the bike and decided to check myself. First I removed few drops of engine oil and shocked by looking at it. It was completely black.
Engine oil was changed during 4th service. In just 2 weeks and around 250Km of drive, it turned black. I went back to service center again and asked why they have not changed the oil. They said "oil was changed. Color of oil changes just after 50 Km of driving, its common”.
If this is true then HONDA oil is below inferior quality.
I guess 3 possibilities
(1) They didnt changed the engine oil at all(I don’t know from how many services)
(2) They didnt properly drain the old oil and mixed new oil with old one.
(3) Honda oil is of poorest quality as said by service center
I bought SHELL AX7 10W40 engine oil. Drained the 2 week old engine oil completely(till last drop) and poured Shell oil.
When I drove the bike, I was surprised. Engine was running very smooth and I felt these improvements in bike:
(1) Engine running very smooth
(2) No engine jerks during acceleration and deceleration
(3) Gear shift became smoother
(4) Engine sound reduced almost by 50%(previously it was very loud)
(5) Pick up improved little bit
Now I have sent a notice to Honda and Dhuvdesh for doing fraud with customers with poor/old engine oil.
[UPDATE AFTER SENDING NOTICE]
Finally service manager from Dhruvdesh Honda intervened and after long series of test drives(by service guys, show room guys, technical experts, sales mans, accountants etc), they replaced Gear shaft, Chain sprocket set, and rear wheel bearing.
But nothing solved. Same gear shifting and chain noise problems are still existing. Only Khaaattttt. sounds during shifts from 1-2 gear position has been reduced.
I have decided not to take matter ahead doing more complains, because these problems are are common in this bike(as I found from internet reviews). Also frequent opening-closing of engine parts will create more problems instead of solving them. I dont trust Honda service at all.
I was waiting for some compact 150cc bike(not so bulky, not so heavy, not so costly) which is in the market now.
Going to sell the CB shine and buy Suzuki Gixxer.
