I have been driving Toyota / Honda cars for past 7 years. I have driven Honda Accord and Oddessey, which is a Honda van in US. So my perspective / expectation is slightly higher from this car too.
I recently purchased Honda City VTEC. Its a nice and comfortable car. The turning radius is great, it can U-turn in smaller Pune roads. The acceleration is okay at 100 bhp. Since the power is more, consumption is relatively low. The trunk space is too good. I could fit 10 bags in the trunk with no hassles.
The interior is kind of okay. Seems like Honda has cut corners in the look and feel. There is no wood interior at all. The absence of central locking is major irritant. You have to lock / unlock using individual door locks.
I was looking for ABS (Anti-braking system) and air bags at this price tag. It is going to be national safety standard in next couple of years. At that time, we all proud owners of Honda city will feel sorry that we dont have the basic features. Today, even a SWIFT has these features.
The car runs good on express-way at 100 KMPH. But braking was not too good even at 40 KMPH, the car slided more than what I had expected. So caution is to drive slowly and keep safe distance. You are not invinsible in this car.
My left front door doesnt lock unless I pull hard, I hope I can fix this in my first service.
