HI bought a Nov 2008 civic stretching my budget over new city ax as I was in love with the look. I bought a MT. The car in first 15 days started giving me 1st gear knocking problems and horrible responsiveness in jam traffics and specially sloppy city terrains like an approach way in hotel, pedder road, powai approach etc. The car just stops dead in such driving condition.
I had to send the car to dealer for 8 times to get the problem rectified but they only did something called as clutch bleeding and said I dont know how to drive and sent the car back saying nothings there. And finally on threatning with a legal notice they diagnosed the problem as clutch burnout. Imaginf a clutch burn out in first 15 days. They said that the clutch can burn out in first few hours also.
Can anyone vet that. Is there no warranty on clutch? I have got the clutch replaced at cost on protest so that there is no further damage to car, but there is no improvement. I read other few blogs where same problem has been reported. I personally know people who had to get the clutch replaced 2 to 3 times in just 5 to 10 thousand running.
Does anyone else have this problem, please reply. I would like to request a car expert or magazine to take my report seriously and speak to Honda guys as I feel the recent lot has local manufacturing part deffects which they are hiding. They know that the indian legal system would take time for resoltion and they dont bother.Would you advise me to go ahead and sue honda? I cant drive this car any more. I never had this problem ver befoe in other cars be it mitsubishi lancer, indica, viva, so I wonder what went wrong.
