We have a 2008 CRV, 2.4L ivtec in Dubai. We bought it about 6 months back, and so far its clocked about 20, 000 kms. I must say, the CRV is all that I had expected and more.
Initially we were lookin at the Rav4 as well, but even though performance wise I think the Rav4 is a bit more superior, in the looks, feel and drive categories, the CRV wins hands down. One thing thats a bit dissapointing in the CRV is its off road capabilities. Even though it has improved a lot in the newer models, it still leaves a lot to wish for.
The insides are plush and soothing to the eyes as compared to a very cheap feel in the Rav4. Once inside the car, the feel encompasses you and you feel at ease with an old friend. The 2.4L i-vtec is a beautiful engine, but a little lazy on the CRV. I also have a 2003 2.4L i-vtec Accord, and I must say, that is still my favourite. Although both the cars have the exact same engine, the CRV isnt have as responsive or peppy as the Accord. The sales and service for all Hondas in the UAE is fabulous compared to a few other makers.
The most important part is the reliability of the vehicle, for which Honda is extremely famous. Overall a fun, relaxed, chilled out drive with minimal problems and maintenance. PLEASE RATE THIS REVIEW AND FEEL FREE TO SUBMIT AND SUGESSTIONS / COMMENTS.
