I own a 2003 Maruti Zen LX for last five years. I bought it second hand from my relative. Now the car is showing its age and being a fan of Honda Jazz, I prefer to have one as my second car. Since the production has been stopped by Honda, I looked into the used car market and I found one Jazz select model registered in the year 2011. The car presently owned by the MD of Pinnacle Honda/Chandrani tower (authorized Honda dealer in Kolkata).
Pinnacle Honda quoted 4.25 lakhs for the car. They offered three free services and one year warranty on the car. I felt interested and yesterday I test drove the car. The odometer shows nearly 25000 kms. The MID showed 10.8 kmpl. The car felt like a new one to me (remember I have driven a second hand zen only). No rattling noise at all from anywhere, good breaks, Michelin tires with deep threads, no visible accidental damages, smooth gearshift and soundless engine.
Every features like AC, music system, power windows, power steering are working fine in the car. They have also committed one full service, internal and external polish on the car before delivery. I took the test drive on an open road near the showroom and found that the engine is little sluggish (not very eager to accelerate). Dont know whether this is an inherent property of the car or felt a wrong thing because I was too excited while driving my dream car.
After the TD I called my trusted Maruti mechanic to check the car on behalf of me and gave him the registration number. He told me that he know mechanics at the Pinnacle Honda service station and, later he informed me that the particular Jazz was a demo car. He also told me to not to go for the car. I got confused because that car felt excellent to me. Now I want you all to help me.
Should I trust Pinnacle Honda and buy the car, are they worthy for that, any experiences? Also I need suggestion on the price of the car. The price they have quoted is justified or its too high...Please suggest everyone. Remember I liked the car very much but its my hard earned money after all. I want to spend it judiciously.
