Here goes after about a year, and lurking on MS for quite a while. My opinion on the Honda Shine with disc brake and selfstart.
I bought this bike after checking out nearly every 125cc bike available at the time and this one fit both the budget and the other wishes I had at the time. Particularly, brand, power and budget
The good:
Good pickup for a 125cc bike, easily outruns M800s and even other 125cc bikes.
Reliable, no issues what so ever.
Excellent brakes. (A must in this country)
Comfortable to drive.
Easy to maneuver in traffic.
Mileage is good. (60+ with my weight on it.)
The bad:
Cold starting needs proper attention on the choke.
Engine vibes about 50Km/Hr, below that no issues.
A little small, for a guy who is 6’2’’.
I have driven this bike mainly around the city and the direct surroundings and as such the handling has always been outstanding, with a reasonable turning ratio and great low end power from the engine.
Conclusion:
Buy: IF you are a city commuter, who needs to cross heavy traffic.
Avoid: IF you need to go on highways or above 50Km/Hr for more then a few minutes.
