I have used the Honda shine 2006 model, It was the 1st model and I took it with Disc brakes..it was the top model at that time and Alloy wheels, self start were not included in the 1st model.
My brother bought the 2009 model too with DIsc, Alloy wheels, Self start.. the review is written keeping in mind about the both models .. the all points are almost same except for the Disc brake works better and good than the Alloy wheels model. The rest all points are same.
I bought this because seeing the Brand HONDA because I believe it has good quality engine and I was right. The engine of the bike is no doubt a perfect one.
The first thing you notice about the bike is very less engine sound and sometimes you even feel whether the engine is on or off. There is no vibration at all and at the same time awesome pickup.
The acceleration of the bike is quite enough in the city conditions.You can easily reach upto 60kmph and you wont feel as if you are riding speeder than the bike’s capacity and to my wonder it reaches upto 95 kmph and if you try to cross 95 Kmph , the engine vibrates severely and so I recommend not to cross 80 Kmph and at this speed there will be no damage to the engine though it goes that speed , I suggest to maintain at 60 Kmph and the Bike gives you around 60Kmpl .
My bike has done 68, 000 km till now and I feel its engine as still new one as soon as the servicing is finished .
The main disadvantage is the small Thin Tyres. To improve mileage the company fits very thin tyres and these are very irritating because they skid often at sands. The disc brake is very powerful.
The tuffup tube helps a lot during any punctures. The handling and grip of the bike is quite good yet for the tyres we feel little uncomfortable and you can make long distances as the seating is very comfortable and even going triples is very comfortable but not suggested.

Overall the bike is very good and if you are not looking for extraordinary looks and performance..and all that you need is simple, good performance, Mileage then this is the best bike available in Market.
