So far I have done around 3000kms and I could not check the milage recently because of my schedules were changing. it seems still I am getting morethan 50 Kmpl, and the noise comes above 60 is not much, normally the sound is very lesser than other so it seems it sounds more above 60, I feel the defects of the bike is the wheel slips even in little amount of water/sand on the road and the service at the company.
After the second service the heating problem is reduced try to change the engine oil in 500 kms at first then continue it as per the company’s schedule. the company is not taking much care in free service (KUN HONDA - ADAYAR) they don’t ever remove the tank cover to wash it and they didn’t check the chain alignment and failing to greasing the chain and other items, may be these issues raise at all the service vendors.
I used to enquire about the bike where ever I see a honda shine, most of the people are happy with the performance some one says it is giving about 60KMPL if they put petrol at shell/reliance bunks, just now I filled my tank at Shell I will have to check it this time. as for as the engine and the comfort it is the best in this class I think. to avoid slipping we may need drive very carefully or we have to change the tyre to a wider one then we may lose some milage.
To avoid getting heated soon we should change the oil often until the engine sets, to avoid the noise we should raise the speed gradually not a sudden pickup like a 2 stroke bike. drive slowly until the engine sets. to set the engine go for a long (about 200 - 300 kms)drive as early as possible, while the trip try to not change the gear often and maintain a constant high speed. before going for the trip tune the carburetor properly with a well experienced tech.
