I purchased Unicorn (Grey) self start on march after waiting for 40 days in Bangalore , so far travelled 450 kms and I am very much satisfied with overall performance of the bike
Intro
When I was planning to buy a bike I have only one option new Pulser Dtsi(alloy wheels)then from TV, sites and magazine adds I got one more option HONDA UNICORN !!!!!!!!!
So I decided to do R&D on both the bikes I have gone through several forums about unicorn and pulser, in that process REVIEWS from this site helped me lot , thanks to all who shared there valuable experience about UNICORN , so decided to share my experience about the bike, that it will benefit other friends who are planning to purchase
Style & Build
As every body says nothing new to it but trust me it is the perfect stylish bike u can see on Indian Roads, fit nd finish are superb , paint job is too good .
Till date I have not heard any extra sound from tail section of the bike
Engine & Performance
Pros
I think Honda engineers have done marvellous job and created segment leader with lot of innovations and without having too many spark plugs!!!! , Honda developed there new engine based on reliable technologies , turn on key and just press the start button 13.3 bHP beast will come alive without any extra kir... kir... sound that u can hear in other bikes . Just release the clutch after engaging the gear , bike will start moving without opening the throttle
Regarding engine sound it is smooth U can barely hear and power delivery is also smooth.while taking take off from traffic signals I can see lot of bajajs, TVS ... are going behind me
Cons
While shifting the gears from fifth to second some times I have experienced Gear shift problem, I have to release the clutch then only it will engage with lower gears
I came to know from some of reviews that adjusting clutch will solve this problem so waiting for first service to rectify this problem
Riding & Comfort
Both are excellent mono shock is doing great job .Some of my friends told me they are feeling like sitting in a car so I am really happy . riding position is comfortable, U won’t feel back pain even after riding for long distances
Milage
I am getting 45 kms/l on Bangalore city traffic I used to ride 50 kmh
hope this will increase after first service , I am using normal unleaded petrol .
Regarding fuel gauge it is working properly when u fill 5 L and above
manual says that it will enter red band in 3 L of petrol .
Lights
Head Light are good and I am not claiming that it is the best in the segment
U can adjust beam (Up or down ) using a screw which placed beneath the reflector of the head light , tail light is real beauty of the bike
Misc
I too miss trip meter , side stand indicator.... but u have to compromise on
some thing , so no complaints
