Hello friends. Well just as everybody, even I am pretty excited about the new Honda Unicorn. But the title tells it all, that it has become just another bike. In fact, the bike can be considered equal to pulsar. In short, let me list out everything I know about the bike.
Features of the bike:-
-150cc 4-stroke bike, with a 5 speed gear box.
-approx 140 - 150 kgs, 13.3 bhp.
-Gear box is the conventional 1-down 4-up style.
-13 litre fuel tank.
-India’s first bike with monosuspension.
-Seems there is storage space under the seat.
-A rocket like multireflector headlamp.
The rest is like any other 150 cc bike.
Honda indeed !! because.....
-An excellent and smooth engine, almost inaudible.
-A pickup capacity that betters pulsar
-Mileage claiming and delivering 55 to 60 kmpl in Indian conditions.
-Better balance with monosuspension, makes riding with a pillion almost effortless.
Honda, is it ? because....
-Absence of side stand indicator, tripmeter.
-Horn is of inferior quality.
Well on the whole it is a good bike but the critics are because since it was Honda’s first bike, there was a lot of expectations from Honda, considering the quality of the company. But one finds no feature in this bike (other than monosuspension) that is not found in other bikes.
The good news is that bikes with autostart facilities are also available now.
I suggest that a testdrive of both Unicorn and pulsar is necessary before buying the bike.
