Easy access

Stayed at Hotel Diplomat with 3 friends for 2 nights.

Take the prepaid bus service from airport to air india building and then

a cab to the hotel. The place is close to the Taj Mahal hotel at marine

drive / Gateway of India. The check-in was seamless as there was no

confusion or unnecessary waiting. Reception staff are friendly and has the

required etiquitte. The bellboys attend to your luggage in no time.

Clean bathrooms, toilet seats, bedsheets, towels, blankets and tumblers.

There is enough shampoo and soap. Not to forget the shower cap.

There were no signs or smell of cockroaches. The cupboards are spacious

and they provide long coat hangers for your suit. There is a folding

cot available for children.

The TV has a remote control and there are bedside switches for tele and

well positioned reading lamps. The aircon was a chiller and had to be put

off at midnight.

Complimentary breakfast we provided at the restaurant downstairs

(mix of south / north dishes). The coffee is excellent. Lots of fresh fruits.

The room service was better than expected but the the lift is pretty old

and not childsafe (grills)

The bar/restaurant is zippy. Need to be there on a Saturday night and

the place would remind you of Babushka in Hampstead - London. The

entrance from the lobby is locked during the evenings and you will have

to take the one in the corner of the building.

Taxis are available 24 hours. Trishna and Bagdadi are within walking

distances. A night stroll along the marine drive is recommended or a

quick but at fashion street.

Checkout process hardly took more than a minute.

Value for money @ 2800 per double room incl breakfast.

Checkout time is 12 noon.
