Hotel Kingston is a weekly show on Star One aired every thursday at 10:00 pm. It is the love story of vish and shelley in the backdrop of a one-famous five star luxury hotel trying to regain its lost glory and trying hard to keep off the corporate scavengers who want to take over Kingston.

Shelley is the NRI uppity and snobbish daughter of the hotels owner Mr.Govind Sahay who is forced to take up the business of Kingston due to her dads sensitive health. Vish, on the other hand is the assistant GM of Kingston who is adorable and the life of Kingston. Vish however is a mystery because he has a dark past which nobody knows.
Vish and Shelley are at loggerheads from day 1. shelley cannot stand her dads fondness for this guy and his in-your-face attitude.Yet, she cant help being enamoured and charmed by him. Vish just doesnt give into her tantrums and refuses to take her stuck-up bossy attitude.
Thus begins an interesting war of genders even as both of them try to pull out Kingston from its financial crisis. Aakash Goenka is the villain of the story who wants to topple the Sahay family and get his hands on Kingston. The script is good and so is the direction.Sonal Sehgal fits the part of an uppity NRI perfectly but when it comes to acting, the actor who plays Vish takes the cake. As the charming, brilliant and endearing Vish, he is perfect. Full marks to him.
Benjamin Gilani is natural in his role as Shelleys dad who keeps on trying to cool the temperatures between the lead couple. The supporting cast is also good and adequate and provides comic relief. So, going by what other channels have to offer on the 10 pm slot of thursday, I prefer watching Hotel Kingston any given thursday.
Itll be interesting to see how this gender war blossoms into a fairy tale and how Shelley realises that she deserves a responsible man instead of that French Poodle toyboy fiance that she has brought along from America.

If you are the one who loves gender wars, love stories high on intensity and the passion factor rather than mush, then, you must give this serial a try. I do not say it is brilliant but it is definitely worth a watch.
