Going on a weekend trip to pune and want to stay at a place that’s close to all the hip pune hotspots, at an affordable rate? check into hotel meru close to railway station on bund garden road. when u reach hotel kapila ask anyone for directions...u won’t miss it. decent rooms, don’t expect anything fancy. the best part is that whenever I have checked in there, its been really quiet and relatively unoccupied. the catch is they don’t serve food except for a free buffet breakfast which is pretty sustaining. also their tea-coffee sucks big time! drink only if u feel faint or something. they won’t be able to give u cold drinks at short notice so carry along all forms of refreshment. but now for the good part - everything is close by. we take an auto and go to koregaon park to pig out for lunch at gourmet next to german bakery. then we travel to bund garden to do some shopping. at night, this place is so close to all the eating places, it feels super. u can eat parathas at nandu’s or kathi rolls at kapila’s - just a stone’s throw away. go partying at scream at meridien or at blue diamond. or go to koregaon park and boogie the night away. rest assured, u’ll always get an auto to drop u back to meru!
