Discovery of taste of Moti Mahal cuisines is something I will cherish for long. Fed up of always ending up in SG highway restaurants for our Sunday dinner, this time we headed towards CG Road. This joint has come up in place of Newyork restaurant; one can easily identify it by the “Statue of Liberty”.
The ambience and decor were blend of tradition and contemporary & so was the menu card provided to us with all the legacy of the place written on the starting few pages. Impressed!
The restaurant is a curiously mixed high and low experience. But in totality I seriously loved it. The service was surprisingly quick, as we were the only diners then(early@evening 7). Then Scheme of free one on one was there for soups, starters and desserts. We settled for mix of veg n non-veg. I never had such a delicious and sumptuous “chicken tikka”, “paneer tikka” and “egg biryani.”
The best thing was Biryani; it would actually melt in yourmouth.
Next time I would definitely gorge on their kebab plate, fish tandoori and mutton biryani(my menu is ready). Even right now while I am writing my mouth is salivating;) One more good thing about here is that food rates is very reasonable, indeed negligible if compared to food quality and quantity. A good meal for two persons costs around Rs 450-600only
Now its time for some low brow points.
They have set up the place two months back and but still in experimentation phase. No music at all with such mouth watering platter, in fact they were debating whether to put on volume of the two LCD TV’s where new channel was running. Hope they immediately start playing some good music, which was my written suggestion.
We left the place after 8, still only 3 more tables got occupied, so the complete fauj of waiters were looking at what and how you are eating, which is not very appreciable.
The Card Billing system got faulty, they swapped the card twice, we got double debited.
So just keep these points in your mind before you enjoy your meal and never miss out an eye on the bill! With all hits and misses, I am looking forward to my next visit there to gorge on my predefined menu;)
Happy eating!
