For our recent trip to Kerala we stayed in Hotel Picassa Castle in Alleppy. We picked this hotel due to its Business hotel status expecting a professional service which turned out to be a far cry!
Location: The hotel is situated in a noisy busy street.
The Hotel: A few years old, it is a small neat looking building with a small parking and giving claustrophobia to people like me once you are inside.
Maintenance: Could have been better!
STAFF: Totally UNPROFESSIONAL!
The hotel Manager called Vipin or Bipin had attitude problem. He did not seem to know the actual meaning of customer service. At the time of checking out, he even asked us, to our horror, whether we carried hotel towel with us! We found it quite awkward and demanded a cross check with his housekeeping girl who cleared us at once.
The guy feeling embarrassed, sheepishly passed the blame to his housekeeping dept. The whole episode was so funny yet infuriating.However, we SPARED him from having to apologize formally as he had already made a fool of himself in front of all.
Service: Poor, slow and very unprofessional!
When we landed there, no double room was ready despite ourprior booking and the hotel being nearly EMPTY! We were given a room which seemed hurriedly done probably while we were at the reception. GOSH! WERE THEY SLEEPING OR WHAT!Beds were not properly joined, a layer of dust was all over the furniture and on the faded wooden floor. Cobwebs were hanging here and there. Bathroom tap was not working properly. Window panes were dirty too.
At our demand we were shown another room almost the same.Anyway, we decided to settle there and guess what, there were some more issues lined up for us! On our request only, we were provided with hand towel, water jug(water was missing!)and toilet roll! Later when we asked for the missing AC remote, we learnt, to our shock that MMT has done our booking for non – ac room! Another shock was that Breakfast was not included in our package in spite of paying for that! Oh my God! Make MyTrip had taken us for a ride again!
When we argued with the hotel manager (Vipin) he washed off his hands saying that it is between you and Make my Trip, the hotel is not liable.Well, we had no choice but to pay for AC as the climate was humid.
Room status:(ONLY SOLACE!)Room had nice furniture with good lightings. Neat and clean beddings were used. Bathroom though cramped and dimly lit had expensive fittings and basic toiletries were provided. WISH THEYHAD KEPT THE ROOM CLEAN AND DUST FREE!
FOOD: Yet another MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! Why the hell dothey serve north Indian dishes when they do not even know anything about them! Our Food came to our room all the way Uncovered! That was the last meal we ordered in that hotel.
All in all, an unpleasant experience!
