Matheran is known for its chilling weather and natural feel. The trees and monkeys makes you feel that you are away from your home! As it is very close to Mumbai, people prefer spending their weekends here. The hotels are almost full and even the cottages are booked. Thus, Pre-reservation is always suggested.
We went to Matheran in summer to get some natural breeze BUT this hotel ruined our expectations! We booked a room in Point view after reaching there and that was our worst mistake! Point view is on the market road and yes, it is safer than other cottages located besides the railway tracks! As it was summer, we booked and AC room which amounted to Rs.1800 for a day which was excluding Food and snacks! If you need to order some food you have to order form their resto which has high rates! When hunger strikes, We dont look at the cost.so we ordered some chicken starters and chinese main! The food quality was pathetic! Oil was all over my hand and dish!EWW! Coming to the service, service is not bad. They come in a nick of time when we call them!
The rooms were average but are very close to each other. people talking, children shouting and crying and what not! So after spending on that hotel room and food we shortened our trip and came back home!
To conclude, Guys dont ever opt for this hotel.it will ruin your trip!
