Another weekend and this weekend turned out to be boring, yes reviewing Hotmail.com was really a boring stuff for but still I have some good words for this site as they also impressed me a lot by their service.
Hotmail, I think this was the first word anyone must have heard when they came to know about Internet.
Hotmail as far as I know is the first site to provide with Free E-mail service with Sabeer Bhatia being the Co-founder of this site.An Indian really setting his country’s mark in the world and also in the world of Internet.
’’FREE’’ is the basic buzz word they used to attract visitors on the net to their site, and that’s it everything free is welcomed by most of the users and the performance rarely matters for these consumers.Well those who were smart enough moved on to try other FREE email service provider.
But some moved on and as ask them why, well they have story to tell like my finger(check my profile for that).
Hotmail, I put on my glasses and began taring this site apart into pieces and this is what I found out.

INDEXING...OR INDEX... WHO CARES

Well they have a pretty good index with many option all clustered into the site which are all related to their service and email.
You find links to FAQ’s(I think they acted smart by putting this link) and Download MSN browser to everything from SIGN UP to LOGIN.
Well the index is a as simple as it can be and looks as professionally designed.

I think this problem with Hotmail is well noticed by everyone who had tried their SIGN UP process, yes I am referring to getting desired USER ID.Well only in rare cases you get your desired ID and mostly there is message which says provide another USER ID.
Their Form is easy to fill with few questions asked and easy sign up process.But name matters.

INTERFACE AND FEATURES

Hotmail seems to be every good when it comes to features, as it surely provides it’s user with some good features.
It’s recent addition to stop SPAM seems to be the best addition to it’s service.
Thier new improved designed and improved friendliness is simply good.But the load time of it’s login process is very very slow, but that doesn’t seem to make the user leave their service.
Hotmail provides it’s user with other facility rather than email as it provides user links to stuff like Movies from MSN and other things.

SPAM...SPAN...WHAT DO YOU CALL IT?

Hotmail users seem to be facing this problem at the top most peak, yes I am talking about junk mails in excess, email from PORN(put to ban on these sites, join the revolution) sites displaying many messages and other email from companies are a regular phenomenon.

NEED SOME SPACE AND POP3 SUPPORT? MOVE ON

’’Hotmail’’ is what they call their site and to store all the hotmail’s I think user must be provided with some good space, but Hotmail seems to be the lowest provider of email space with 2 MB which really seems to be of no use rather than 10MB of Indiainfo and other sites like Visto.
POP3 support is also important part when it comes to email as user need a POP3 support to download email to the email client, but Hotmail doesn’t provide support but rather than this it promises to integrate with Outlook to provide user with some option.
What about others?Well Hotmail really will go down a big time.

SOME NEWS AND CONCLUSION

How many of you have gone through their Terms of Service??I bet not many of you must have said yes, well who bothers to read the lengthy TOS.
But did you know that if your using yourcompany’sname@hotmail.com as your company’s primary email address then you are violating their TOS.
Regarding Hotmail’s service and whether I would recommend you to check it out, well I would say NO.Please don’t.Less E-mail space, pretty slow interface and many other make this service not to check out one.
You have other options right, so move on leave them.You will surely find some other good service.
