KHARADI PUNE: They just don't care!!

Hi All,


This is about the Housefull furniture store in Kharadi, Pune. My husband had bought a bedroom set from them a couple of years ago. The stuff was pretty good and as their prices are cheap, we decided to buy from them again. We needed a wardrobe and a shoe rack. I have listed below the problems we have had since the time we stepped in to their store:


1) The foremost disappointing aspect is that more than 60% of the stuff on display is NOT AVAILABLE! If you choose to buy these, you will have to wait for a month or two for them to make them and sell it to you. My question is: Why have you put it up on display when you can’t sell it? While even a small-time carpenter could make it for you in 2 week’s time.


2) They would not sell the display piece even if we wanted to buy them straight away. They gave us lame @$ reasons like’that is damaged’, etc. On further probing, we found out the real reason that they want to keep displaying it and collect orders and make the choiceless customtakeouters wait for 2 months to get a wardrobe! Why can’t you just have a catalogue?


3) As we were badly in need of a wardrobe, we finally had to settle down for the one which wouldn’t have been our first choice. We ordered for it on a Saturday & we were supposed to get it the following Saturday(their warehouse is in Bombay). We called them on the day we were supposed to get it as we wanted to know at what time they were delivering it. We were kept in absolute dark about the truck driver’s number or the time and had to waste the entire day waiting for them. And it finally arrived at 6 in the evening.


4) They do not assemble the wardrobe the same day and we called 3 times the next day before 2 guys showed up. And there they had missed sending a side panel of the wardrobe. Since that has to also come from Bombay, we had to wait for another ridiculous week to get the wardrobe assembled. Needless to mention the wooden planks lying around in the bedroom blocking any movement for the next 8 days.


5) They do not have a formal complaint procedure. And, the promised call backs never happen. Even if they do call back, there is no solution other than waiting for another week. Don’t even talk about compensation for your time and inconvenience! So the customtakeouters are stuck in a place where they have no choice but to take the audacity these people throw around.


All this because no one sells cheaper and better! Its high time they face some tough competition.
