Hey guys.......firstly, i’d like to annouce a couple of lil things which have been going on in my life, the second announcement, incidentally is directly related to the topic i’m writin on right now.
Well for starters, I cleared my C.A PE-II (intermediate) exams and am thus now in C.A Final. Well.....heck......i studied real hard for it, which is why i’ve been missing out on a lot of good stuff on MS in the last couple of months. The 2nd announcement, i’ll withhold for a good ten min, while I tell you about how I came upon MS.
Like my ID says.....G-raptor, NO......i aint a raptor (a dino), but I own a LML Graptor. Well anyways.....about the time I was considering to buy a 150 cc bike for myself, I tried to research on the Graptor and came up with zilch. So one day, I just googled it from my GPRS phone and came upon this site mouthshut. I wasnt sure, atleast looking at my mobile’s screen.....what a site like mouthshut would tell me about a bike. But hey.....GPRS surfing was free that time, so I accessed the site. Well....anyways....there I came upon 2 or 3 reviews of the Graptor and those reviews told me quite a lot about the first hand experiences of the various guys who had tried out the bike. Readin through I noticed, that the reviews were written by people, users, consumers and not the proffessional bike testers.
Anyways......fifteen days into mouthshut, I brought the bike after getting good references about the product. And since, the bike is a bike which has not sold huge numbers, I thought i’d write a review on it myself for any other potential buyers out there. Since I couldnt think of an id for myself, I chose G-raptor (i know now why I never win any prizes for Originality).
Since that first review of mine, I had been getting quite a lot of praise from the MS members, and so I thought i’d review many more bikes and cars since my friends were pretty tired of hearing all the gizmo talk. Anyways I did, and then my writing profile expanded into other miscellanous areas as well, and before I knew it, I became a SW. Not that it made a difference, but hey it sure felt good.
Coming back to the topic at hand, a leading Car and bike magazine was on the lookout for Correspondents and Editorial Assistants. So I just emailed them and told them about my passion for cars and bikes and also attached a couple of URL’s of my Hero Honda Achiever and Ford Fusion review.
Well......i just got a reply from them 10 min back, a ’feeler’ saying that they would like to try me out for writing for their mag BUT in moderate language. And hence I immediately started brazening out this little piece dedicated to MS who made the above possible for me. Btw, I still havent replied to them, so I guess now MS knows who’s on my priority list. And i’d like to end this piece by thanking MS again who recognized my writing capabilities and gave me due encouragement and recognition
