SMOKEY DOUBT??

Who says quitting smoking is too hard? Once you become honest with yourself and starts analyzing obvious harmful facts related to smoking which now seems unobvious to you, it will become a pleasure exercise for you.

I have often wondered  why people love to smoke if they know it is not good for their health. The reasons cited by many smokers were as follows:

·   Smoking helps me to relax and acts like a Tranquilizer against hypertension or stress.

·   I  smoke only low Nicotine cigarettes.

·   It’s too hard for me to quit now….I donot  have the willpower.

·   Iam an ADDICT to smoking now.

·   I found it difficult to imagine my life without it(as if it’s a life-saving drug)!

Quitting  smoking is not as hard as smokers think!

Try these things out……and you will feel the magic!

·   Be honest to yourself and asks for the numbers of excuses(reasons) not to stop smoking. You will be amazed when you will analysed the hidden harm it has done to your health.

·   Don’t feel physical and emotional discomfort while trying to quit. Keep your spirits high.keep trying the only way you can lose it by ceasing to try.

·   Look for some other options like-meditation, self-restraint excercises .

·   Make a commitment to yourself and set a date to achieve smoking free life.

·   Maintain positive attitude in your life. Do small things that makes you happy and in this way you willnot be tempted to smoke.

·   Don’t fool yourself by giving excuses everytime.Do it now for your family and well-wishers. Quit smoking and say “YES” to your life.

·   Start cutting down ….if you smoke 20 cigarettes a day then cut back 1 cigarette a day for a month and keep cutting down.

·   Drink lots of liquids, eat healthy and think healthy.

·   You can also put a reminder in your room to guide you whenever you are tempted to smoke. This reminder can be a poster, a diary or a small note.

·   Ask youself  Do I continue to smoke even though I am aware of the health hazards associated with smoking? Think about rewards of quitting smoking like-healthy body and longevity of life.

·   Try to associate yourself with good habits and deeds.

·   Try to help others in their endevour to quit smoking.

·   Communicate your experiences and positive gains to them especially teens people who often risk their life on the small gain of enjoyment .It will give you satisfaction.

·   Last but not least, keep reminding yourself Smoking is injurious to health.

These are some invaluable books on quitting smoking like:

  1. 7-steps to a smoke free life by E.B Fischer.
