’ https://howstuffworks.com’ is one of the best websites I have come across!! Basically, the name of the website is self explanatory! It tells you how stuff works!
It covers everything from telling you how your car engine works to how laser printers work! There’s daily stuff like ’Question of the day’, and ’Article of the day’. There’s the top 10 articles, for instance, how webservers work and how toilets work! Are you really interested in how a toilet works?!
You can register for free, just giving your email address, password, age and gender, and if you want to receive emails from other companies concerning other topics, just tick the topics you are interested in.
There’s also ’Cool stuff of the day’, ie, funny stories, factory tours etc. There is also items from the news and top stories, for instance, how Napster works and how foot and mouth disease works.
You can enter competitions and win stuff. Depending on how many points you have, is depending on how many chances you have got of winning that particular prize. Each time you read an article, questions, links etc, you get 1 point (up to 20 per day). Each time you visit the website, you get 5 points. When you register you get 10 points. The more points you accummalate, the more chances you have of winning!
