The 6710b is a business series laptop, much like the NX6120 with which people have had so many issues that one customer has recently taken them to consumer court. The complaint and its copy is here :

The consumer court is looking into it. We should all support the customer, I’m doing my bit !
Soon, more and more customers will join the fight. I’m sure HP will realize that it cant take its customers for granted. In India, the consumer laws are strict, but customers have this easy attitude abt not taking a company to court. Now we will see what happens
Please join ... write your problems on the board and make sure this customer wins. Soon we will have many customers flocking to the court and only then will the service quality of MNC’s improve in India.
I’ve lodged my complaint with them too, the consumer court wants customers to come forward an bring up all their complaints.
