I bought the HP ENVY 14 laptop trusting the handout that came with it - that said that an optional accessory of HDMI to VGA convertor was available. Interestingly, HP has NOT started selling that in India - meaning, you cannot connect to a LCD projector! How cool is that for a laptop costing well over 65K INR?
The ENVY comes with a Intel i5 chip and two separate modules to manage your graphics. Interesting to note that its quite a pain when you change the power mode - the comp asks you for permission to switch the graphics controller - and 50%+ times, the laptop hangs.
The sound system is pretty good on this one. The keyboard is backlit. However, it tends to bend and haw as you type..The radiance screen compares with the Apple Mac Book Pro. No doubt.
The webcam works well in low light conditions. Full marks.
Btw, escalation is NEVER an easy option with HP. Try finding an email to send on an issue and you will realize that you are perpetually facing call centre agents who are as helpless as you, maybe a little more!
