I bought a HP laptop HDx 18t 1200 from US. My laptops product ID is NK146AV and the part number is : CNF9261KRM. The laptop stopped working shortly after purchase after I had brought it back to India.
HPs international warranty says that the laptop has service support in India (as was confirmed by HPs sales staff and support staff US in online chats.) But the local service center of HP has refused to service the laptop.
When I confronted them with facts about HPs service policy and that the HPs head office says it has service support in India they kept dilly-dallying and told me they would call me back on Wednesday (many of which have gone by).
It seems that HP guys are very eager to take your money, but not ready to support you when there is a fault with their product. I paid a lot of money to buy this expensive laptop and but I am afraid my money has gone to waste because if it develops a fault, it wont be serviced.
The attitude of the local service center is very appalling. They dont want to do any work. It is shameful. I wish I had bought some other brand.
I have sent it to the US to get it serviced, but is that practical and affordable?
I recommend that you think about buying HP only if you dont want service support and are ready to throw away the product if anything goes wrong with it.
