My cousin had bought me the dv5 from Canada august 2008. Within two moths of usage the wifi button stopped working. When i took it to the hp service center :" it is a usual complaint on the model" was their response. Though the laptop was covered by international warranty, hp people demanded rs.2500 saying that the model was a Canadian variant of the Indian equivalent.. What do you guys understand by international warranty??!!? I let it go and purchased a wifi dongle..
A couple of months later the fightback started switching off as and when it wished to. Nowadays this happens with alarming regularity. Pressing the sleep button and starting again may ( sometimes) solve the issue.. Otherwise its a painful restart. Personally i dont have the confidence to go for a hp product again in future.. But this is just my personal experience.
