Hello to all here at MS
And special hello to all Hrishi Das fans.
No need to give any sort of introduction for one of the most versatile and talented jwell of Indian Cinema, yes here I wish to write a little bit about great Hrishikesh Mukherjee or Hrishi Da...Though it is worthless to show light to the sun but I want to share my views with all my friends here at MS. The news of his illness worried me since a long and now makes me to write something on him, so here is the review...
Hrishi Da being the most famous film maker for all the time, he has worked with famous producer/director Bimal Roy in Calcutta as an film editor in his initial days of career. But he started making movies of his own kind very soon and as a director he has created excellent entertaining movies like Anand, Abhimaan, Guddi, Golmaal, Aashirvad, Baawarchi, Satyakam, Namakharam and many more...the long list is given at the end of the review just to keep all of us known to all his nice
creations.
It is worth to say that many bollywood lead actors and actress as well as character artists got sufficient importance in his movies and after working in his movies they got such name and fame in their film career. Hrishi Da had provided many good artists to the indian cinema by polishing them in his movies. We never forget the fabulous performance of superstar Rajesh Khanna in Anand & Bawarchi. It is only Hrishi Da who has compelled so called angry young man like Amitabh Bachchan and macho man Dharmendra to do comic roles in Chupke Chupke. Amol Palekar and Utpal dutt were marvelous in their acting in unforgettable comedy Golmaal, similarly Rekha of entertaining movie Khoobsurat was attractive. Kamal Hasan n Sridevi of Sadma were best in their performances.
The melodious music & songs are always the attractive part of Hrishi Das movies and the music was often created by great music director Sachin Dev Burman. All of his movies are always realistic and down to earth unlike the other bollywood masala movies, his movies never have crime, violence, and vulgarity in any sense. The stories of his movies are so simple and easy to understand but on analysis one can easily find the depth of meaning and the central idea of the story. Hrishi Da has worked with almost all the top Indian stars of all the time and all of them are happy to work with him and always ready to work with him any time on his small invitation.
Hrishi Da never being so experimental in his creations, he use to lift very small things from the real life and create movies according to his views and ideas and millions of fans who understand good movies always wait for his movies. Long list of his lovely movies have charmed audiences as well as film critics alike because of their middle-of-the-road accessibility, heart-warming irony & literate sensibilities.
Hrishi Da has created movies nearly with all the colors of life, some of his movies like Anand & Sadma compel us cry with; make all of us laugh freely and non stop with hilarious comedies like Golmaal, Chupke Chupke, Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate, Khubsoorat, Bawarchi, many more; entertained us with Abhimaan, Mili, Guddi, Anupama, Satyakam, Musafir. One common thing seen
in all of his movies that most of the characters of movies belong to the middle class community with all the beliefs, rituals, views, ideas, styles and thoughts of indian middle class. And all these things attract the common people to watch his movies and its all because of his talent and fresh movies, he has such a long list of movie fans.
Hrishi Da was honoured with the famous Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Government of India in year 1999, for his great and contribution to Indian cinema.
Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate released in year 1998 was his last movie which came after a long absence of him from Indian cinema, the movie was fine and worth to watch at least once to get refresh from the hectic and busy daily scheule.
One thing of worry for the Hrishi Das fans that he was admitted to Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai after feeling some uneasiness and he has been put on ventilator and was under observation for some time. According to hospital officials he is still in ICU there has been no development as such in his health but he is responding to treatment and his health remains serious yet stable. They cited the advanced age as a serious impediment to his recovery and no comments were available as to when Mukherjee, fondly called Hrishida, could be discharged.
Lets pray for our very own Hrish Da and may almighty bless him with his gracings and keep him healthy and fine in all his lifelong...
