In January 2000, My friends & I decided to go to a movie.When we reached the theatre, we were dissappointed to see Houseful sign.
Another friend suggested to go to nearby theatre to watch KNPH.We were all sceptical, KNPH had just released a day ago & both the lead stars were new. But nothing else to do, we went to the movie.The only people in the theatre was our group, it was virtually deserted.But when we watched the movie, we were totally floored by his good looks & good acting.When I went home, I told my parents that Hrithik Roshan would become a big star.But my parents argued that it takes years to become stars.
A month later, my parents had to stand in line for 3 hours to get two tickets for KNPH.Even the black tickets had sold out. The success of KNPH catapulted him into limelight & made him an overnight success.
Many think of him as a star, & many others think of him as a total flop.But I think he is a superstar, a great package of looks, style, acting & dancing.He is a superb actor & even greater dancer(Rem main aisa kyon hoon?).But what I like about him is the efforts he puts in his work, the hard work he does, he is determined to be perfect.I don?t think any actor in this film industry takes such efforts, Not even SRK.
Just weeks ago, I saw his interview in Coffee with Karan, with Farhan Akhtar. he was totally down to earth, anybody with success of KMG would have boasted about it, but not him.
Everybody has his share of Hits & Flops & so has Hrithik Roshan.After success of KNPH, Aap mujhe ache lagne lage, Mission Kashmir & Fiza were a major flop.I don?t know why Hrithik signed Aap mujhe ache lagne lage, it was a very bad movie after all everybody make some blunders.But his acting in Fiza totally stunned me, how could a new comer handle such a mature role?
The movie did not flop because of Hrithik, but because of the movie story. Most Indians love to see love stories(the typical boy-girl- running-around-trees) & serious films don?t get much appreciation.
Three flops & Indian junta started doubting Hrithik?s talent. But KMG & Lakshya again proved that he is still the best.Give him a little time & he will become a superstar, the best in this industry.
