I was provided with a HSBC card completely free of cost during 2007 and in-spite of my hesitation, the telemarketer convinced that it is totally free why dont you have it and I was also convinced and took the card.
It got expired in 2009 and after which I did not renew it because, other bank payments were easier and I was using the other cards which I have except for HSBC.
Suddenly in 2010 July I got an SMS that my account due is 1000+ and when I called the customer care they mentioned it is an annual fee.
In-spite of me not renewing the card and not using it, how come it got renewed. CC told that it is an online renewal and Transferred to the senior where I had cancelled the card and also she mentioned that the charge will be reversed.
After a month, I got a call from the collections team mentioning that I have to pay the bill. I told this guy particularly that it is cancelled but he says that I have to call the CC team and again tell them to reverse.
Do you mean to say that customer have to followup for all his requests to get closed. Gone are those days where customers are not treated well.
I am planning to lodge an issue with consumer forum.
