I’m very glad that I do not have a account with HSBC bank.
Unfortunately I have to visit the bank to deposit some cash for my friend. Went there 3 times, the last time exp was enough to call it over and since then I prefer dropping a cheque (what if it takes a few days to get money in my friends account, I’m saved of all the trouble. Following are the three exp I had with this bank.
PS: The branch I’m referring to is the one right next to Inox theater in Pune.
1st time: I have a account with ICICI and that bank opens from 8am to 8pm, so assuming that HSBC might also be opening around the same time, reached at 9am to find that it opens at 10am (I thought only govt. offices open at that time). So again go there at 10:30am found that there is only one person accepting the cash deposits and hence a lil bit of a queue. Got my turn in 20min or so.
2nd time: Based on my prev exp I went there at 10:30am to deposit the cash. I was third in the queue, with two person this time taking care of cash deposits. The first person from the queue goes to one of the counter and the second counter guy moves off putting the board ’’Counter is closed’’. This is right after 30min of opening the bank. Now this even don’t happen in govt. offices. Well what if one counter is closed, one is still open, so was expecting my turn in next 5min or so but it seems the guy at the counter was taking out some big sum of money and hence time keep on passing by. 5min, 10min, 15min, 20min, 25min with passing time the queue kept on growing. After 30min when some 20 persons were in the queue my turn came. I deposited the money and right away went to the customer support person. Showed him the long queue and pointed him towards the other cash counter which was closed. He was giving all weird answer. I shook my head in dejection and went out.
3rd time: I again reach the bank at 10:30am was parking my bike in the bank parking premise, came the security guard saying that I can’t park my bike there as the space is reserved for cars only. I asked him to show me where is that mentioned, only thing which was mentioned was ’’HSBC Parking’’. Though there is a parking place 500m away from the bank for both cars and bikes but one needs to take a detour of around 1km each way to park and walk to bank. I forcefully parked the bike there and went in. Guard followed me and complained to some official. I put my point across to the official that its a ’’HSBC Parking’’ written outside and since they don’t want a bike to be parked there, do they want only car owners to come and use the bank? That moron was giving some silly excuses. I just decided this is the last time I’m going to come to this crappy bank, deposited the cash and said bye to this place.
Never been there since then.
