Well ...it so happened that I decided to go in for a HSBC card through one of their representatives.. Timesofmoney.com somewhere in the first week of February.
At the time of filling up the form I gave the sales guy much more info and documents that he asked me..for example 6 months bank statement, appointment letter, salary slip of 2 months, visiting card etc.
I was also informed that all these documents were ’’enough’’ and that in a couple of days I would be receiving a verification call from the bank and within 3 weeks I would be receiving my card.
To my utter amazement, for 2.5 weeks I never received any call.when I finally called up Times of money, they told me thatthe bank needs some more time.
After a couple of days I sent a mail again to the agency and also gave them a call.They asked me to speak to the bank directly.
When I called up the bank, at first the customer service guy said that new applications could be tracked only by an automated IVRS.When I gave called up on the IVRS, it gave me a message saying that the application is not received.This happened somewhere in the first week of march.
To add to my disgust, the bank sends me a letter a couple of days back dated February saying that my application has been rejected!!!!
Isnt it strange that when the IVRS says that my application has not been received till the first week of march, the bank guys send me a letter dated some date in February.
Strange are the ways of Hongkong bank...
Guys..think time zones could be their excuse for this lapse in service...If so , better they pack their bags and get out of India. Dont need these FII’s..
