I am using the HTC Touch from last 1 and half year. I havent faced any big issues however unfortunately the volume control button started misbehaving in between calls and continued to stop all the hardware buttons functioning but the touch screen is all good. I approached an HTC dealer in pune followed by the service centre. They took one week to find what the issue was. They told me IC of hardware controls is not working and needs changing which will cost me 600 Rs. After a day they told me that the IC is good but the mother board needs to be changed and it will cost me 7500 Rs.
I ended up taking my phone back from them and went to a well known mobile store on J.M. Road in pune. The guy named Wasim fixed the problem in 2 hrs and charged me just 600/- as against the 7500/- quoted by your authorised store. Why is there so big a gap in the charges? Also, why is it that the authorised dealer cannot fix what a local dealer can? Customers go to the authorised dealer because they trust the company. Why do we end up paying more in that case and not getting the problem resolved?
