I was looking for a phone with different LED colours for various notifications , such as red colour for missed calls, blue for missed SMS, cyan for Whats App notifications, and so on. I wanted these colours to be totally customizable. Huawei has been highlighting the Rainbow light effects of the Honor Bee 2 4G VoLTE and the initial impressions one gets is that of a phone with customizable notification LED colours.
However upon using this phone, to my utter disappointment, I found out that that these rainbow lights are NOT customizable.
The default colour for ALL notifications like missed calls, SMS, Whats App messages, etc, is just green and it cannot be changed.
Even third party apps like light flow don’t work with this phone.So when the LED blinks Green, you do not know whether it is a missed call or a Whats App message or a SMS.
There are five different LED colours like red, blue, green, purple and cyan but they work only for incoming calls .You can assign PREDEFINED colours for different caller groups ( for incoming calls only ) , or for different callers. The default colour , as mentioned above, is Green. You cannot change the default colour nor can you change colours for different groups. You are thus stuck with the PREDEFINED colours.
The Mood light and party light features are totally useless since you cannot use the status LED if you use these features.
So in spite of having five different colour LED lights, in practice you cannot use them to identify various notifications.

Huawei does not make the above facts clear and the user manual doesn’t even mention the rainbow light feature.
To sum up, this is a very basic 4G VoLTE phone and there is nothing much to write about. At around Rs.5, 000/-this phone isn’t value for money either and there are better options available.
