If you are someone who puts a lot of analysis into work while watching a movie, skip this one. Hulchul is not for you.
Plot: Stupid.
Lakshmidevi’s (This lady will remind you the ’Sas bhi kabhi bahu dhi’ Type) calling in life is to destroy AngarChand(AmrishPuri)’s family.
Angarchand’s Family consists of Dad and Four Sons. Sons are not ALLOWED TO MARRY. Lakshmidevi schemes to accomplish her MISSION using her granddaughter. Kareena has to entice Akshaye into a love trap, and throuh him destroy AngarChand. OBVIOUSLY, THIS SCHEME DOESN’T DELIVER. Both Fall in love, and Finally get married.
Climax: Badly shot.
This is where Priyadarshan has failed. Hard to Explain. Suffices to say that Priyadarshan lost the soul out of the scenes from the original Malyalam Movie. Some scenes, I must admit were funny. But, they weren’t sufficiently funny to make the viewer forget the silliness of the Plot. The flow is lost.
Kareena: Lovely. Looked very convincing. And ofcourse, very sexy too.
What’s good in Hulchul? The story is Silly. But each scene is extremely convincing. Humor spontaneous. Throughout the first half, I could hear non-stop laughter in the theatre.
In Short:
Movie- Not as good as Hungama OR Herapheri. Watchable
