Worth a Laugh

I had been waiting to see Hungama for some time now but was not able to get hold of tickets. Finally I got hold of a pirated CD and was able to have a dekko.

The movie is based on comical situations based on happenings rather mis-happenings and misinterpretations. The comedy for once is situatioanl and not lewd nor below the belt kind ( coutsey Shakti Kapoor) . Surprisingly Shakti Kapoor appears in this movie too but has nothing to do with comedy.

The movie shows Aftab has a stuggling singer.....and the only actress comes to town in search of a job ( what’s new ?)...allegedly to run away from a probable marriage to village zamindar.............the fights between them which fellow were very predictable ending in love but they don’t accept it...............

Paresh rawal is awealth seth with a ’’hippopotamus’’ wife........who being a crow pretends to be Koel...............

Akshay Khanna is a ricj man’s son who wants to open a business but miser father doesn’t lend him a penny...........

rest of the story is a comedy of situations, errors, misundertstandings which does evoke some laughs specially the scene in which actres sis hiding in the bushes in paresh rawal’s house while paresh is searching for a lost stick , loses hi sdhoti in rose thorns just when his wife sees actress running away from the house and paresh emerging without his dhoti and thinks her husband has just committed the unimaginable crime
