Hungama -- Fultoo Paisa Wasool

Well, my MS-Friends,

Hello to all. Here, I am once again with my second review -- a little different theme though and one of the very important modes of The 21st Century Man’s Entertainment. Yes, you guessed it right -- THE MOVIES.

First of all, I would like to suggest that you should be relying on my review; and -- no offense to anybody’s feelings -- it would be very stupid to read a review and then decide about the movie. According to my past experience, it actually depends upon an individual’s tastes. Now, we can like some movie, which not at all makes sense to others or vice-versa. So what I would say is go, watch a movie, and then decide whether or not it was good. In this way, you won’t regret that you missed something that you would have liked just because somebody said it was bad.

Well, this Sunday, I went to see a movie with my girl -- Hungama. Well, I’m pretty much sure that after reading the title of my review, you all would have guessed how I felt about Hungama. And I’m sticking to that, and I openly proclaim that it was totally paisa wasool flick. Fultoo timepass. Well, there were surely some bad parts; and, you would agree with me on this because every movie lacks at least something -- but, overall, it was good. We actually went to see Koi Mil Gaya, but we couldn’t get the tickets -- not even in ’’Black.’’ Now, I’m damn sure all the Indians know what is ’’BLACK.’’ It basically means when you cannot get something by straight means, then you’re ought to pay a price a bit more than the real to get it.

Well, what is going on with me? Where is my review going? Where were we?

Oh!!! Yes, Hungama. So what I was telling was -- We actually planned to go for the Hrithik Roshan - Preity Zinta movie, ’’Koi Mil Gaya’’ but somehow my girl had made sure that she won’t turn up in time and we would not get the tickets by any mean. So at that time, when we were fed up trying, we got a person selling black tickets for Hungama. Now, we had to decide whether or not we would go for the movie because we would have to pay double the price of tickets. So just to save us the heat of the Sunday Noon, we decided to watch the movie. And believe me, guys -- I’m so thankful to God for saving my money. The movie was really hilarious, not completely, but satisfying in terms of the money I paid.

The lead roles of the movie are:

’’Jeetu’’ played by Akshay Khanna

’’Nandu’’ played by Aftab Shivdasani

’’Anjali’’ played by Rimi Sen (Her first film and indeed a good one)

’’Radheshyam Tiwari’’ played by Paresh Rawal (As hilarious as is expected from him)

’’Kachra Seth’’ played by Shakti ’’Aaoo’’ Kapoor and many more.

’’Raja’’ played by Rajpal Yadav

All the characters fit well into their roles, and have truly done a good job. Radheshyam Tiwari (Paresh Rawal), however, is an exception among all of them. Once more, he’s shown his ability to produce such magnificence in acting. He’s made everyone laugh, as you all know, in Herapheri. Acting, body language, dialogue delivery and whatever you think is necessary to be a good comedian has been shown by him in this romantic comedy flick. After him comes Rajpal Yadav; and believe me, friends, he is good too. Rest all the characters are good too. The story mainly revolves around Rimi Sen, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Khanna.

It’s actually a story of three youngsters, who want to stand on their own feet -- just like every other Indian movie. Akshay Khanna is the only son of a very successful lawyer, who is also the legal advisor of Paresh Rawal. He’s tired of his dad cribbing every time he asks him for money to start his own business. After begging a lot, he robs his own father and starts a business of his own. As you know, this is movie is a comedy flick so there are no aftermaths of robbery. Rimi Sen is a girl who runs away from her village house because her mother wanted her to get married to some landlord’s son. So she leaves her village and comes to the city to do a job so that she could pay the landlord. Aftab Shivdasani is a son of a millionaire -- who by the way is never showed in the movie -- who leaves his house because his father opposes his career in music. For some reason, Aftab and Rimi get stuck with each other and start living in a same house as paying guests. Now, by luck, Rimi gets a job with Akshay’s firm. Paresh Rawal is a multimillionaire who has a lot of wealth and money but stays in his village as a seedha-sada gaonwala. Now, all of these characters keep meeting or hitting each other in the whole film by some luck or whatever you may call it. At the end of the movie, everything comes out in clear and it ends overall with a good climax. However, I would not tell the climax to break your interest to go and see it for yourself.

Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav have done some good scenes; however, they only meet at the end in this movie. I think there would have some great shots if they’d hit each other in between the movie. All the three youngsters have done a good job as far as their roles allowed them. Tiku Talsania has a played a cameo and he’s good as always. Shakti Kapoor is outdated as he nowadays is in all his roles. There is some good music by the hit duo of the 90s, Nadeem-Shravan. Distributed under one of the biggest milestone banners, United Seven and Venus, the movie is overall satisfying; and my sign would be completely go-go for this one.

At the end, you never know what would happen. Please do not curse, my beloved friends, if you do not like this movie. I’ve only given my own thoughts and you may use them only as far as your brains and hearts allow you to.

So here finishes one more of mine, and see you with the next one soon.

Farewell.

Elessar signing off for now. Cheers!!!
