Hello beta, how was the movie? Beta?
She quickly realised that from the moment I had returned from the cinema, I had been lost in peals of laughter.
It was...ha ha....it was great! I said, losing myself in the giggling. The film was great, and so damn funny!
What was the basic story then?
See Mummy all I can tell you is that this film is all different parallel stories getting further and further muddled up, intertwined and theres complete misunderstanding and confusion!
Arre I mean what were the characters and events?
Its like this Mom. Theres this female called Anjali who comes to Mumbai, looking for a job, so as to salvage her village family from a debt. Alongside, theres a wannabe musician guy, Nandu. Then on the other side, theres a family of lawyers whose son Jitu sets up a business of electronics.
Then what happens? So because theres no roof to cover their heads, Anjali and Nandu act like husband and wife as per the rules that only married couples are allowed in their building. Then theres this village couple who shift to town to adopt city lifestyle, Radheshyam Tiwari and wife Anjali.
Anjali? But thats the Nandus wifes name right?
Yeah! Thats the confusion! See Anjali goes to Radheshyam for a job, and Jitu meets her there on a repair job, and he thinks shes his daughter. Then noticing that she gets more favour from Jitu when he thinks shes Radheshyams daughter, Anjali acts as though shes Radheshyams daughter. Thus, Jitu keeps dropping Anjali Jr. to the gate, and Anjali Sr, . Radheshyams wife, thinks an affair is going on between Radheshyam and Anjali! then love notes from Jitu start appearing for Anjali, and Radheshyam thinks Anjali Sr. is having an affair!
And...
Come on Mummy, all the funll go if I tell you what happens in the second half! But its a culmination of all the trouble brewing in the first half!
But theyre some really interesting characters like Bisleri the waiter, the paan-chewing lodge owner who holds up signs for everything, Nandus landlord- flirty Popat, and his even-flirtier wife. But the guy whp steals the show is that Raghuvir Yadav as that mad Raja fellow.
So how was everyones acting?
Arre everyone was great! That Rimi Sen female who plays Anjali was good for her first film. Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal and Shoma Anand were absolutely hilarious! in fact everybody did an awesome job and fit the roles perfectly!
But whats so funny in this beta? It doesnt seem soout of this world!
Oh Im telling you this, thats why. Wait till you see the movie! The dialogues are superb and leave you in splits editing is crisp and good, and even a few songs are nice. The climax, and the dream sequences of affairs, along with mad Raja are the funniest hallmarks of the film. There are places where you go Oh great! Here comes trouble! This film is bindaas and a laugh-riot I tell you! I couldnt stop laughing at times. Agreed at times I felt situations keep building and building and never get released, but its worth the fun!
Your Papa and I were planning to go see a movie. Should we see Hungama?
No doubt Mum! I recommend this with all my heart This is one of the funniest and most mixed-up movie of all time, so go see it as soon as you can! just see it for the laughs, nothing else! Youll come back with a stitch in your side!
Ok ok Im going! Whens the next show?
No show, today was the last show Needless to say there was a Hungama in the house! If you dont want to follow in my footsteps, go grab a ticket and laugh your guts out!
