An overpriced book

= Story-= If the eastern coast of India, in the Bay of Bengal, lies the immense labyrinth of tiny islands known as the Sunderbans. For settlers here, life was precarious and marked by attacks from man-eating tigers and unrest and eviction from constant threats. In this place of vengeful beauty, the lives of three people from different worlds collide. Piyali Roy( aka Piya) is a young marine biologist of Indian descent but stubbornly American, comes to the Sunderbans in search of a rare breed of dolphins, Orcaellabrevirostis. She meets Fokir, a young iliterate fisherman who helps Piyali when she is thrown in the river from a boat. Although they do not speak the same language, Piya and Fokir are powerfully drawn to each other, sharing an uncanny instinct for the way of sea.Piya engages Fokir to help her in her expedition along with Kanai, a delhi-based businessman whom she had met in the train on her way to Canning. Kanai was a guest at his idealistic aunt and uncle’s place. With Kanai acting as the translator, the three of them launch into the elaborate backwaters, completely unaware of the undercurrents of his isolated world, where political turmoil exacts a personal toll that is every bit as powerful as the ravaging tide.

= Review-= The book is good, but it’s price is Rs 350. The other book with such story are available in the market at Rs 200-250. Yes, you can tell that Rs 100 is not a big amount. But why will you pay 40% extra. During the festive season you compare the prices from different websites, and then buy at the lowest price. The prices on the websites don’t differ by 40% . Then if something can influence our shopping decision, then why can’t it influence our book buying decision. Sorry, I am not the man to pay 40% extra on this book and so I dislike it.
