We had been to Hyderabad Zoo today i.e. May 6th, 2012. This was our first visit to the zoo. We had heard a lot about the zoo from the people who had visited it few years back. However the scenario today was totally different. It all started with chaos and traffic at the entrance where all the Qualis and Tourist Vehicle try to dodge your car and line up their vehicle in the queue to enter in the zoo park.
The entry Fee with the Vehicle was a whooping Rs. 750. While I didn’t mind to pay since I could take the car inside thinking that it would be worth ferrying in my car rather than walking at around 12 PM.
To our surprise the we realized that cars can just go around the zoo and can not take you to the specific point. This meant that we anyways had to walk a lot inspite paying the 750 entry fee for the car. This is utter nonsense.
It was horribliy crowded and not maintained at all. Though we might try to compare with the other zoos which are not maintained too. But the fact is that the Hyderabad zoo is popular for some reasons, which for me was hard to find.
I would recommend to go to the Zoo on weekdays and specially early morning when you can actually see animals out and not sleeping in their abode. DO NOT TAKE VEHICLES INSIDE. IT IS USELESS.
