I bought Accent executive in Jan 2010 and thought I would share the experience with all. To start with, my monthly running is only 800km( around 10000km in a year) and hence I was looking for a Petrol driven vehicle and my budget was between 5 to 6 lakhs only.
I checked lot of reviews on mouthsut and also checked with many of my friends who own car from different brands and finally after all analysis and test drive of Accent executive and Swift dzire petrol, I zeroed in on Accent executive.
Based on my survey and analysis, following are the realistic figures about mileage of popular sedans in City traffic(Delhi) with AC on and their pros and cons :
New Honda city :
Cost : 8.5 lakh
City driving Mileage : 12-13km/l(AC on)
Pros :
1.Powerful engine
- Excellent pickup
3.Good brand name
Cons :
1.Bad after sales service ( based on review collected from friends who own honda city and also based on reviews on internet)
Accent Executive :
Cost: 5.5 on road (Delhi)
City driving Mileage : 11-12km/l (AC on)
Pros :
- Powerful 1500 cc engine
2.International design
Powerful AC (works very well even when the outside temperature is 40 degress)
Beige interiors
Tubeless tyres
Cons :
1.Outdated. Has been in market for years.
Swift Dzire Petrol (base model)
Cost: 5.8 on raod (Delhi)
City driving Mileage : 12-13km/l(AC on)
Pros :
1.Suzuki brand
cheap spares.
Very good after sales service.
Cons :
1.Bad design (according to me and not a general view)
2.Less leg room for rear passengers( as compared to accent and aveo)
- Black dashboard and very ordinary interiors.
Chevrolet Aveo (base model) :
Cost: 6.5 on raod (Delhi)
City driving Mileage : 11-12km/l(AC On)
Pros :
1.very good design.
2.high quality interiors.
Cons :
1.High maintenance cost.
Finally I bought the new accent executive for 5.5 lakh on road. I have been getting a mileage of 11-12km/litre in city driving with AC always on and its a pure driving pleasure, you never come to know of any bumps on the road with its very good suspension. There is no noise in cabing and its got a super silent engine and a very powerful AC. I am due for first service(in fact i am bit late) and I hope to see slight improvement in mileage. Mind you I am very happy with mileage of 11-12km/l since thats something one can expect from a petrol sedan. I could have gone for Accent executive CNG version but since my monthly running is very less, I went in for Petrol model. As per Hyundai dealer, I always have the option of converting it to CNG from Hyundai by paying Rs. 60000 any time without voiding the warranty but as of now I am happy driving it on petrol.
To sum up I am enjoying it and it is a wonderful car for a budget for 5.5 lakh. I hope my review would be useful for people looking to buy a sedan with limited budget.
Thanks
